Can I give a customer their class back when a fee is charged?

In certain cases, yes.

In Mindbody, clients will lose a class if they late cancel and may lose a class if they no show.

For Unlimited customers, this is typically not a big deal. If you’re using Bitlancer with class pack customers (such as 5 and 10 packs), we understand you may want to give the client their class back as part of charging a fee.

To accomplish this within Bitlancer, we don’t return their original class. Instead, we use pricing options (in lieu of products) to sell the client a new class to use in the future as part of charging them a fee. Overall, we generally recommend our customers not enable this feature unless absolutely necessary, as there are a few caveats:

  • We aren't actually returning a class to the client. Instead, they are losing their original class and being sold a new class to use.

  • Given that we are performing a new sale, variables like pricing option expiration and priority come into play. Often times, this can be confusing for both the studio and the client. For example, what would you set the expiration date of the new pricing option to if the client is on a 5 pack that expires in 60 days, or on an auto-renew that renews every 30 days?

The first step to enabling this feature is to setup at least two new pricing options. For example:

  • Late Cancel Fee (Returned Class)

  • No Show Fee (Returned Class)
