How do I manage incentives?

Incentives are additional amounts paid to an instructor based on the number of people in a class who meet a certain criteria.

For example, you may choose to exclude Staff credit or membership types from qualifying for incentives, or you may choose to pay incentives on penalty cancel & penalty no show reservations. Reservations that qualify for incentives are called eligible reservations. To configure which reservations are included / excluded in incentive calculations, please visit this help article.

Our software supports two different types of incentives, which can be customized on a payrate by payrate basis:

  • Per Head: A dollar amount is added to total compensation for each eligible reservation in a class. For example, $1 for each eligible reservation over 5, and $4 for each reservation over 10.

  • Flat Rate: A flat dollar amount is added to total compensation once the class reaches a certain amount of eligible reservations. For example, a $15 bonus for 15 or more eligible reservations.

As an example, with the incentive configuration at right and 17 eligible reservations in a class, this instructor would receive:

  • $0 for the first 5 reservations.

  • $1.00 x 5 for reservations #6, #7, #8, #9 and #10.

  • $4.00 x 7 (both per-head incentives are totaled) for reservations #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16 and #17.

  • A flat $15.00 bonus because the class had 15 or more eligible reservations.

Therefore, the incentive amount would total $48.00.
